Join us on May 9th for the 9th Annual
Darlington Car Hauler Parade and Festival brought to you by Nationwide
Insurance! Come watch the NASCAR Sprint Cup Teams make their
way through cheering fans from the Florence
Civic Center to Darlington Square and onto the track that's "Too Tough to Tame".
There's plenty of FUN for the whole family!
The fun will begin at the Florence Civic Center at 4pm with entertainment and live music by Tim Elliott and CCB. Kids play all afternoon for FREE on the KidsZone inflatable rides, games, climbing wall and bungee jump. The GameTruck will bring a wide selection of games for Xbox360, Wii and PS3, and can accommodate up to 16 players at one time!
PLUS come see and meet the NASCAR NEXT 9 drivers!! Scheduled to appear are Ryan Blaney (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series), Chase Elliott (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series), Dylan Kwasniewski (K&N Pro Series East), Corey LaJoie (K&N Pro Series East, NASCAR Nationwide Series), Kyle Larson (NASCAR Nationwide Series), Sergio Pena (K&N Pro Series West), Daniel Suarez (K&N Pro Series East), and Darrell Wallace Jr. (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series). These drivers represent the next wave of talent, providing a glimpse into what the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series could look like in the future.
There will be refreshments for purchase, and the proceeds from food served by Fatz and Johnsonville will support the Special Olympics. Kids and adults alike will love the airbrush tattoos, even a semi-permanent logo of the track Too Tough to Tame! The Zumba Blast stage will be presented by Fitness World.
Watch the NASCAR NEXT 9 drivers compete on the Rusty Wallace Driving Experience Kart Track, and try your hand at kart racing for a small fee. The winner of the kart race gets to ride in a convertible with one of the NEXT 9 drivers through the parade.
Fans will enjoy the exciting silent auction full of great NASCAR items and race memorabilia. Perhaps the most exhilarating items up for bid will be the chance to ride in a convertible with a NASCAR NEXT 9 driver or in a NASCAR big-rig through the parade. This year, the proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit the USO.
The main attraction, however, are the plentiful NASCAR transporters. Fans can make their way through a sea of NASCAR transporters and take pictures with their favorite team's hauler and driver, and even have a chance to ride in the big rig during the parade. Also, watch your favorite team compete in the Pilot Flying J Truck Driving Challenge, held in the Civic Center parking lot.
At 7 pm, the parade of NASCAR haulers will leave the Florence Civic Center and make the 12-mile drive to Darlington RaceFest on the Darlington Square, where there will be added entertainment, food, a car show and awesome fireworks display sponsored by Fuel In A Bottle. The transporters will continue through Darlington until they reach the track Too Tough to Tame where they can begin preparation for the Bojangles Southern 500 race.
