hauler drivers? YES, then you should check out the 8th Annual
Darlington Car Hauler Parade and Festival on May 10th presented by
Nationwide
Insurance!
The fun ignites at the Florence Civic Center at 4pm with entertainment and live music! Kids play all afternoon for free on the KidsZone inflatable rides, games and more! Fans can engage in an exciting silent auction full of great NASCAR items and memorabilia.
Take a peek at select NASCAR show cars and put your foot to the
pedal with a racing simulator. Remote control slot-car racing will
be set up, so you can compete against your friends for the grand
prize! PLUS free custom air-brush face painting, Nationwide
display stage with driver interviews and see this year's Grand
Marshal, the legendary Cale Yarborough.
The main attraction, however, are the plentiful NASCAR
transporters. Fans can make their way through a sea of NASCAR
transporters and take pictures with their teams' hauler and driver,
and even get autographs! The big-rigs are expected to begin
rolling in around 4pm. A number of drivers will offer
"ride-alongs" to the track, which will go to the highest bidders in
the Silent Auction.
Also, watch your favorite team compete in the Pilot Truck Driving
Challenge, held in the Civic Center parking lot.
At 7pm, the parade of NASCAR haulers will leave the Florence Civic
Center and make the 12-mile drive to Darlington Square where the
anticipating crowd celebrates with added live entertainment
and the festivities of Verizon RaceFest.
There you can enjoy vendors, music, car
show, fireworks and more! The haulers will continue
their journey onto the track "Too Tough to Tame",
where they can begin preparation for the weekend races.
As if it couldn't get any better, admission to the Darlington Car
Hauler Parade is free! Proceeds from the silent auction will
benefit the Pee
Dee Area Special Olympics.
